I’m now through the third week of the MIS 766 course. It has continued to be a fairly low key course.
I got my hands on the raw data from my colleague. It’s roughly 4 gigs of data. I am not yet ready to dive into it, but I understand more about what I’m supposed to be doing.
Part 9 of “Microbiome Discovery” covers UniFrac, which is a metric used as part of the beta diversity measure.
Part 8 of “Microbiome Discovery” is a discussion of beta diversity. Beta diversity is a measure of the diversity of the biome between samples.
Part 7 of “Microbiome Discovery” is a discussion of alpha diversity. Alpha diversity is a measure of the diversity of the biome within a specific sample. This is done after picking OTUs and assigning taxonomies.
